Since that cartoon, there has been a steady stream of parking controversies about ticketing parishioners’ cars outside of St. If that mark was still there when they checked back, boom. Back then, officers were riding around in little carts with chalk wands marking parked car tires. My very first parking cartoon in April 1992 showed a parking patrol officer putting a white chalk mark on the front flipper of a sea turtle that had struggled up the beach to lay eggs. Upon reading this in the Palm Beach Daily News, I thought, “Hey, that reminds me of a cartoon I once did!” A quick search in the archive and, yep, my Oct. A map was shown that illustrated the patchwork of timed parking, resident parking, free half-hour spaces and valet or loading dock options that have evolved over the years.
Last Thursday a presentation was made before the Town Council’s Business and Administrative Committee that suggested expanding use of the ParkMobile app throughout the town.
